Father's Day
This FathersDay I spent some time going through the old radio ads that my Dad let me record at the local radio station he ran in our small rural town.
Transparency
Trump is lying, cheating & deceiving through a failed presidency. Dems have an obligation to be transparent & accountable to voters
SEIU and CSJ
Yesterday we secured game changing endorsements from the SEIU State Council, 1199 SEIU, and the Coalition for Social Justice.
Video Now: 4th District candidate Jesse Mermell on her SEIU endorsement
Jesse Mermell, a Democratic candidate for Massachusetts' 4th Congressional District, provides an update on her campaign and looks ahead to the Sept. 1 primary.
Gun Violence Awareness Day
Today I #WearOrange and pledge to take on the NRA and Donald Trump to champion common sense gun safety reform in Congress. Black people are disproportionately harmed by gun violence and to truly address this epidemic, we must also take on racism and white supremacy.
Paid Leave
No one should have to choose between earning a paycheck or taking care of themselves or a loved one. I helped secure Paid Family and Medical Leave here in MA, and I'm ready to do the same in Congress.
100 Days
With less than 100 days until our Sept 1st primary, my Campaign Manager Katie is here with a message about how you can help bring our grassroots movement over the finish line. Join us today at http://jessemermell.com.
Save the Post Office
Donald Trump: For once, put workers above your own political agenda. Stop playing games and release the funding that the USPS needs to survive.

Recently I appeared on Dover Sherborn Cable TV to the discuss the ways in which our politics and our communities are being impacted by the COVID-19 crisis, and how we rebuild in an equitable way.

Congrats Grad!
To our 2020 grads: I know this isn't the celebration you had in mind, but nothing can rob you of the pride and honor that you have earned. Congratulations!
#HandsOffMyBC
10 years ago when I worked at Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts, I fought to ensure that contraception was covered under the ACA. Today, SCOTUS began hearing a case that could roll back that mandate. I won this fight before, and I'm ready to do it again in Congress.

Young people are charting a progressive, equitable path forward for our nation – and we need to listen to them. So we asked Students for Jesse why they’re on #TeamJesse. Here’s what they had to say.
April Review
April has been tough, but I’m proud of the progress we’ve made together.
IDD Community
My oldest, dearest friend sent me a report that rattled us both. She’s the most unflappable person I know. She also has cerebral palsy & as a person with an IDD, she is likely more susceptible to COVID-19. But we need the data. And the IDD community needs resources.
New Hope
Thank you to Marcia from New Hope for updating us during our Attleboro Community Conversation on how they’re supporting domestic & sexual violence survivors during COVID-19. For help, call their hotline at 800-323-HOPE or chat online at https://new-hope.org.
NorthTV - Jesse Mermell
One of the candidates running for the House seat held by Kennedy is Jesse Mermell. The Brookline democrat, who was raised in rural Pennsylvania, told North TV during a virtual edition of the station's “Inside Government” on Tuesday that one of the issues facing this country is not only to create a strong economy, but one that is fair, as well.
$1,200 is not enough
The Stimulus Package passed by the US House last night is good progress, but there is so much more work that needs to be done to provide immediate relief and ensure that we come out of the COVID-19 crisis with an economy that is fair and equitable for all.
Climate Strike
Earlier this week, Massachusetts Climate Strike asked me how the flaws in our current healthcare system disproportionately impact frontline and vulnerable communities, and how I will address this issue in Congress. Here’s my response.
Earth Day
On Earth Day, I'm reflecting on how our failure to act on environmental & climate justice has impacted us all, and disproportionately hurt communities of color & low-income communities. I'm ready to continue my fight to protect our planet in Congress.
Voting Rights
We must take immediate action to ensure that our electoral system is accessible, free, fair and safe for everyone.
Sheriff Steve Tompkins' Endorsement
Suffolk County Sheriff Steve Tompkins endorsed Jesse Mermell during a community conversation about protecting the most vulnerable, including those who are incarcerated, during COVID-19.
Bloopers
Virtual campaigning certainly comes with some bumps along the way, but at least we can laugh about them! Please enjoy what I expect to be the first of many bloopers videos.
Direct Relief
There are many great organizations supporting MA-04 during this crisis, and if you are able I hope you will consider making a contribution.

Chag sameach!
Never participated in a Passover seder by Zoom before, but there’s a 1st time for everything! Grateful we’re finding new ways to come together & honor old traditions. Finding hope in the resiliency of the Jewish people - something we all need right now. Chag sameach!
Racial Data
People of color are being disproportionately impacted by COVID-19 as a result of centuries of structural racism in this country. I'm standing with Senator Warren and Congresswoman Pressley to call on HHS to collect comprehensive racial data about the virus.
Help the Helpers
We're all wondering how we can support the mental health of our doctors, nurses, and first responders these days. Here's some expert advice from Taunton City Council President and Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker Barry
Be Gentle
Taunton City Council President Barry Sanders underscores the importance of looking out for signs that our loved ones may be struggling and being gentle with ourselves during this stressful time. Definitely advice that we could all use right now!
Domestic Violence
I'm thinking of those who are currently isolated in their homes with domestic abusers. Help is available – you can call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-7233, text LOVEIS at 22522, or log onto http://thehotline.org for an online chat feature.
Pause
Hitting the pause button for a moment to acknowledge what we are all going through. We can and will get through this together by supporting one another and advocating for a just and efficient response.
Abortion is Essential
Republicans will take advantage of any situation to push their radical, anti-choice agenda – even a pandemic. Thank you to the abortion providers, Planned Parenthood, and many more who are fighting back.

My message to parents: Thank you. And we're here for you. Please share with us resources that every parent should be aware of during this time, and we will amplify them.
Support Our Nurses
When I saw a photo of nurses wearing garbage bags & reused masks bc they don't have enough PPE, I thought of my grandma who was a nurse at an evacuation hospital in WWII. We must give our nurses the resources and support they need to fight this virus.
"Stimulus Bill"
The Stimulus Bill is imperfect, but four Republican Senators are currently holding it hostage because they want to make things harder for working people in this country. We must take this critical step forward to provide relief for the American people, now.
"Leadership"
Real leadership is inclusive and centers the most vulnerable among us. That’s not what we're getting from the White House, but I know it’s how the people of MA-04 are responding to this crisis. We will help our neighbors, consider vulnerable communities, and get through COVID-19 together.

Jesse discusses what it means to her to have Representative Carolyn Dykema's endorsement.

"Reproductive Rights"
Being pro-choice isn't just a position Jesse holds – it represents the work she's been doing her entire career.
"Slam"
Jesse Mermell today unveiled an aggressive agenda for protecting reproductive rights and expanding access to reproductive health care for all. This is her first policy proposal of the campaign and highlights her career fighting for, and winning, on reproductive rights issues.

Jesse's lived experience will make her a better representative for the entire Fourth District – south to north.
